Accused Ex-MP "Fashionably Ill."

Margaret Moran, former MP for Luton South, is to be prosecuted for fraud after all. "We are all quite surprised," a unidentified source close to the former MP said. "We just don't understand why Margaret has been singled out - they were all at it after all." Asked about Ms.Moran's recent illness which prevented an earlier prosecution the source told us; "Well that's another thing. Being ill got that bloody Libyan terrorist out of prison and politicians like Mubarek and Jaques Chirac have all contracted a mysterious illness that seems to strike them down as soon as they face criminal charges. Why not Margaret? I think its disgraceful that people would suggest that she only pretended to be ill to avoid prosection. Margaret has always been honest and hard working apart from this little lapse of judgement over her expenses." Dr.Auricdactylus, a Harley Street specialist in political diseases, told our reporter; "There have been some very worrying developments in my field recently. Many politicians across the world came down with Rightwingitus during the late 1970's and early 80's and few have recovered, but this latest outbreak of an unknown malaise amongst politicians accused of crimes is potentially even worse. We can't be sure how many politicians have committed criminal acts or how many might be found out. We could be facing a epidemic of global proportions."
