Republicans Demonstrate Their Patriotism Once Again.
As President Obama presents his $447 billion package to increase employment in the United States and get the economy going again, Republicans show their patriotism by rallying round and giving him the finger. "Why should the wealthy, after 30 years of unrestrained accumulation, put aside their own interests for the country? What has the United States ever done for us? We would far rather ease restrictions on pollution and drilling for oil and gas than pay more tax. After all what harm has a bit of pollution ever done?" Meanwhile, in a seperate development, Sarah Palin, who stepped down as the Republican Village Idiot for Alaska half way through her term, has decided not to seek the Republican nomination for the Presidency. "I want to devote myself to God, my family and the country," she told reporters, "mainly by making a few more million dollars from television deals and publishing books about my vision for an America in which the wealthy never have to pay tax again."
