World Media Fails To Notice Mass Protest In The United States

In a completely incomprehensible development it seems that the whole of the western world has failed to notice mass protests sweeping the United States. We asked the BBC for an explaination; "Protests? What protests?" Sky news seemed to be similarly unaware; "Protests? What protests?" In the end we had to turn to Al Jazeera to find an in-depth report under the headline, "Occupy Wall Street: A Media Blackout?" We asked our own media correspondent for his take on what is happening; "Yes, it is a bit strange isn't it? A protest breaks out in some small unheard of place in Syria and there's questions being asked at the United Nations. Protestors in Wall Street bring the whole of Manhattan to a halt and no one notices. I can only surmise that the media has been asked to ignore it to prevent it spreading elsewhere. If so it's not working as the map above shows. Even funnier is the fact that the protests are now spreading across Europe with hundreds of towns and cities organising similar protests. Perhaps this is what democracy looks like - its hard to tell since its been absent for so long."
