Mayor Of New York Misses The Point.

Michael Bloomberg, the Mayor of New York, has stated that the "Occupy Wall Street" protestors are a threat to jobs in the financial industry and in the wider economy. We asked an independent economist, Dr. Auric Dactylus, for his view; "Like most politicians in the pocket of the banking industry he's deliberately mssing the point. Everyone is aware that the financial industry is a necessary part of a modern economy, but that doesn't mean they have to be paid huge amounts of money for not much nor that they can't be regulated to prevent them from being driven insane by greed. Saying that an unregulated finance industry is "necessary" for the economy is like a Roman Emperor saying that barbarian invasions are necessary to maintain the army. The finance industry is there for the sake of the economy, not the other way around." We asked a spokesperson for the "Occupy Wall Street" movement for his views; "Well at least someone, beside the New York police, have noticed we're there so I suppose that's an improvement. The problem with Bloomberg, like most politicians, is that he is the problem."
