Cameron Breaks His Word Yet Again.
It seems that Liam Fox, despite David Cameron's apparently high-minded promises during the general election of a "New Politics," will survive what, by any standards, is a first class political scandal. Cameron, the world's first part-time Prime Minister, has put party interests before the national interest - no change there then. We asked a Tory insider what was going on; "Poor old Liam has been found with his hand in the cookie jar - well, his entire right arm actually - but there's just enough wriggle room to, perhaps, get away with it. Fortunately no one asked Liam for receipts for the money he's glummed out of various arms dealers so there's no paper trail. And Adam Werritty has given his word as a "gentleman" that he won't talk as long as he's not charged with fraud. So everything is all right and everyone's integrity remains intact."
