The News In Shorts

How the news would look if everyone stopped waffling and told the truth.

Voting Tory Kills.

While the Tory party asks such questions as "should people who smoke be allowed to use the NHS," a Tory Heredity Peer, Earl Howe pictured above, has been working for the tobacco industry as a lobbyist despite not declaring his interest. He was responsible for the scrapping of plans to force tobacco companies to use plain packets on the basis that "commercial considerations should come first," was a Tory shadow Health Minister until 2010 and was also responsible for the recent ammendment to the running of the NHS which has allowed the proportion of private beds to rise from 2% to 49%. We asked the Tory party for their comments on Earl Howe; "He's a real Tory - two-faced, dishonest, utterly selfish and corrupt. Anyway, the best way to stop people smoking is not to ban tobacco advertising but simply allow smokers to die in agony without access to medical aid. There are good commercial reasons for this. Poor corner-shop owners would lose the 1p or so they get for each packet of cigarettes they sell, the government would lose the £4 in tax, Tory peers and MP's would lose millions in bribes and we wouldn't be able to save billions by refusing medical treatment to smokers. No one likes smokers in any case, so there's no harm done."
