Earth-Like Planet Confirmed.

It has been confirmed that an extra-solar planet, Kepler 22-b which lies 600 light years away, is the most earth-like planet so far discovered. It lies within its sun's habitable zone and the surface temperature is a balmy 22 degrees c. As the news broke several oil and mining companies expressed an interest in stripping it down to the bedrock, religious leaders have declared any possible inhabitants to be either infidels or heretics, the inetrnational finance industry has demanded that any inhabitants immediately impose austerity measures and the world's armed forces have demanded an increase in budgets to prepare for any possible future war. "We are already considering imposing sanctions against the planet if it turns out to be anti-democratic or developing nuclear weapons," a United Nations spokesman told our reporter. "We've also decided that, with gravity twice that of earth, the planet is violating human rights."
