It's Official: Democracy In Europe Is Over.

The EU has officially announced the end of democracy in Europe at the behest of the finance industry it was revealed today. In Greece a vice-President of the European Bank has been installed as Prime Minister, despite not even being an MP. In Italy an ex-EU Commissioner and Senator, the equivalent of a life peer, is poised to succeed Berlusconi. And all this has been achieved without the need for dangerous elections. While thousands take to the streets across the western world to register their disgust, they are quietly ignored in favour of a handful of men meeting in private to determine all our futures. Worse yet that future seems to consist of the majority being pauperised to maintain the wealth and privilege of the few. Meanwhile in Britain a Prime Minister with no legitimacy and no mandate is busy dismantling the welfare state and sacking soldiers who have been careless enough to get themselves wounded protecting his interests. We asked our political editor for his comments; "The trouble with democracy is that its a bit inconvenient at this stage. When the wealthy are threatned it no longer seems to have the importance it once did. Oh well, it was a nice illusion. I wonder what will replace it?"
