Eurozone Deal Unravels.
The deal to "save" Greece or at least the Euro has begun to unravell on several fronts. The attempt to persuade China to save us all has foundered as the Chinese government told them to take a hike and now the Greeks have bitten the hand that slaps them. Worse yet, and largely unreported, the Greek PM has sacked the heads of the armed forces in the wake of their refusal to take wage cuts. Alarm bells have begun to ring as a military coup in Athens now looks possible and Turkey nervously eyes its borders with its long-term enemy/ally. We asked a Greek government insider for his view; "Prime Minister Papandraoue has decided to ask the Greek people if they want to cut their own throats or someone else's. I can't begin to imagine what the answer might be."
